Amelia: 2 Months

It's almost month three, but this post was written at 2 months and the photos were taken at about 2 months, 1 week.  :)

Size: At her 2 month well-check, Amelia was 13 lbs, 1 oz and 24.25 in, which is the 93rd percentile for height! She can squeeze into 0-3 month clothing but is also wearing some 3-6. She's up to size 2 diapers (we clearly still haven't started cloth...).

Health: Millie had her first little bout of sickness at 7 weeks. She had a fever so we took a trip to the doctor, and after a urine sample and blood test, were told she was okay and that it was just a virus. After a few days of extreme unhappiness she was back to normal.

Sleep: Millie is a great little sleeper so far! This month she has been taking (most) naps in her crib, with the exception of when we are out running errands or dozing in my arms in the mornings. She typically takes little cat naps in the morning and then takes a long afternoon nap for about 3 hours. For a couple weeks she was sleeping through the night (from about 7:30 or 8pm to 5:30 or 6am), but the past few days she's woken up once. We introduced a paci a couple weeks ago, and she loves it! I've been putting her down at night drowsy with her paci, and she falls right asleep most nights.

Diet: The spitting up has decreased dramatically in the last two weeks! Amelia eats every couple hours when she's awake. She probably nurses about 7-9 times a day.

Postpartum: At the end of month 1 I was feeling fantastic, then just after 6 weeks postpartum I started having some severe pain that I'm still dealing with. Postpartum hair loss is in full swing!

Milestones: I know this goes without saying, but Millie has changed SO MUCH! She loves watching us make faces and flashes her cute smile at us all the time, especially right after waking up. I absolutely love it! She loves the play mat now and can spend a good chunk of time looking at the animals above her. She tolerates tummy time for a few minutes at a time and is getting really good at holding her head up.

P.S. Here's little Nora back at 2 months. I hardly remember her ever being so small!

Amelia: 1 Month

Size: Millie is totally out of NB clothing and onto 0-3 months! I haven't tried to weigh her because the last time I tried on our scale, it was almost a pound different than she weighed in at the doctor. If she continues to grow at the rate she has in the past two weeks, she'll be into 6 month clothes by next month!

Health: Toward the end of the month, Millie's plugged tear ducts cleared up. Hopefully they stay that way :). Some mornings she wakes up with a little congestion, which usually clears up after a nursing session. She won't see the doctor again until she's two months.

Sleep: At the one month mark we moved Millie over to her crib in the nursery. The transition was easy, and she's sleeping really well there! She consistently wakes twice, between 1 and 2am and around 4am. We've been starting bedtime around 7 (when Nora goes to bed), but sometimes it takes until 9pm for her to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Diet: I'm still feeding on demand for now, which is typically every 2-3 hours during the day and twice in the middle of the night. Nora was never a spitter, but Millie frequently (I say frequently because Nora only spit up a handful of times EVER!) throws up entire feedings of undigested milk. I was a little concerned that it may be a sensitivity to something in my diet, but it doesn't happen every day even, so I think it's something she'll just outgrow.

Postpartum: My activity level is back to normal, and I feel great! My pelvic floor is still pretty weak, but I know it will get stronger over time. I've lost a little over half of the weight I gained during pregnancy.

Milestones: She's smiling more and more and has started cooing at us also. She's showing interest in the playmat and moves her arms and legs wildly, like she's trying to grab the toys.  Her neck is getting stronger by the day. She's growing and changing entirely too fast!!

Amelia: Week 3

Nora and Millie had a little photo session this week :).

Size: Millie is definitely growing! She started wearing 0-3 month clothes and has moved to size 1 diapers. We are leaning toward cloth diapering once she is a little bigger. Do you cloth diaper? Please comment/leave links to your favorites! I still have a lot of research to do before we decide.

Health: She's had a little stuffy nose and congestion this week, but otherwise she's doing great. Nora had some kind of virus early in the week and was running a fever. Thankfully, Millie didn't get it! Her tear ducts are still plugged and are worst in the morning when she wakes up.

Sleep: This week Millie has been sleeping about 2-3 hour stretches. She pretty consistently falls asleep right around 8, after nursing and fussing off and on for anywhere from 1-3 hours. I started letting her nap at least one solid 2 hour nap in her crib this week, but she is still sleeping in our room at night.

Social: Millie finally got to meet her Grammy and Gramps and Aunt Mally and Uncle Claney. Nora especially enjoyed having them around :).

Diet: Millie likes to eat about every 1.5 - 2 hours during the day, sometimes a little longer if she's taking a good nap.

Postpartum: I hardly feel like I had a baby 3 weeks ago. My tailbone hurts after prolonged periods of sitting, and my pelvic floor muscles are really weak. Otherwise, I'm good as new! I've lost about 20 of the 40 lbs I gained.

Milestones: We're already getting glimpses of this little girl's smile, and I'm loving it!!

Finally, here's a comparison of the girls for fun :).

Nora at 2 weeks
Millie at 3 weeks
Time is going by so fast already. We're trying to take it all in and thoroughly enjoy each day!
